Argentina reduced its HIV/AIDS burden by 21 percent from 2000 to 2010, saving an estimated 4,379 lives. This makes Argentina’s HIV/AIDS burden the second lowest in South America after Chile. Argentina reduced the mother-to-child HIV/AIDS transmission rate by 62 percent from 2000 to 2011.
